Roulette is an old
game known to be played as far back in the late 18th century in
France, from where immigrants took the game to New Orleans in around
1800.An American roulette wheel has 38 identical pockets, numbered
0, 00 and then 1 to 36.
The pockets alternate between red and black as they go around the
wheel with 0 and 00 colored green. When you first look at a roulette
wheel the numbers may appear to be random, though they are precisely
arranged. The wheel rests at one end of a long table on which the
betting layout is marked.
The aim of roulette is to bet on the winning number, and players
have many roulette betting options available to them. It is
important to know that if the ball lands on 0 or 00 all bets are
lost, unless the zero or double-zero is included in the bet.
